Size & Form:The standardized size ensures compatibility with a vast array of holders – lanterns, votives, luminaries, decorative dishes, and purpose-built tea light warmers.
Material: Traditionally made from paraffin wax, they are increasingly available in soy wax(renewable, cleaner-burning), beeswax (natural, subtle honey scent), and palm wax.
Burn Time: A standard paraffin tea light offers a burn time of approximately 2 to 6 hours, providing sustained light or fragrance. Longer-burning varieties (7-10 hours) are also common.
The Burn Process:Unlike taller candles, tea lights are designed to liquefy completely into a small pool of molten wax during burning. The metal cup safely contains this liquid wax until it solidifies again after extinguishing.
Wick:Features a short, centered wick designed for the specific wax type to ensure a consistent, relatively clean burn within the confines of the cup.
